Grants will NOT be awarded for:

• emergency relief activities in the immediate wake of a disaster (natural or man-made);
• projects related to disaster situations with a large media coverage;
• activities entirely and permanently dependant on international funding;
• projects with religious or political objectives;
• general fund-raising drives or events;
• individual cases;
• scholarships/fellowships.

We discourage application:

• from organizations with no history of prior donor funding, unless the project is carried out in partnership with a more experienced organization.
• from organisations with an annual budget of more than 10 million Euros; unless it can be demonstrated that the grant seeker is so committed to the specific project/programme that, having failed to raise the requisite funds, it has used its contingency fund to finance the project for over 24 months and can provide undisputable evidence of the project/programme’s quality.
